The American Veneer Edgebanding Company, Inc. (A.V.E.C.) was established in Heath, Ohio, in 1997 and is the distributor for the
Heitz-Group. We bring their long standing expertise and innovative ideas to the American market.
We offer the full range of veneer edgings, thick veneer edgings and wrapping veneers and have evolved to a market-defining supplier of real wood veneer edging to the wood working industry, the specialist trade and the skilled trade industry. Today, we are the undisputed market leader in terms of sales and turnover.
Our modern, humidity controlled high racking storage warehouse facility is equipped with edgebanding slitters and saws. It is conveniently located close to I-70 and the Columbus International Airport. We carry a huge selection of wood species in various sizes and widths in stock at all times. This allows a quickly respond to our customer needs.
Our trained and knowledgeable staff can react quickly to custom orders. We can also assist you with any difficulties you may experience while running your edgebanders, profile wrappers or contour banders. We do have the answer to your problems.

Founding of the Heitz company in Melle, Lower Saxony (Germany), by Hedwig and Hubert Heitz.
For the first time, multi-glued thick veneer edging is developed on rolls and successfully launched on the market.
Foundation of DUNA Élfurnér Kft. in Budapest, Hungary (today Heitz Élfurnér Művek Kft. Pusztaszabolcs, Hungary).
Foundation of the A.V.E.C. Co., Inc. Heath (OH), USA.
Dynamic growth makes it necessary: Conversion and expansion of the production site in Pusztaszabolcs, Hungary.
Takeover of the edging division of Richter Furniertechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Melle.
The site in Heath, Ohio will be expanded. Doubling the warehouse capacity will significantly increase the performance of this branch.
INDUS in Bergisch-Gladbach acquires the Heitz Group and thus offers the company protection against foreign takeovers and at the same time expands its business opportunities.
The location in Pusztaszabolcs Hungary is expanded again. A 2,000 square meter production hall is opened, which significantly increases the capacity and efficiency of this branch.
Heitz comprehensively refreshes its advertising appearance - from the corporate design with logo and business documents, to image brochures and product information sheets, and culminating in the new website.
